Artists Statement:
Living in London so much of my world is full of buildings, noise and people all of which can make for a claustrophobic atmosphere.
I am fascinated with depicting the sky. Constantly moving and shifting cloud formations, changes of colour in the subtlest and the most dramatic sense and the ever changing effects of light.
I have a passion for big skies, open spaces and the sense of freedom which they give me.
With my paintings I have tried to capture these feelings of space and the calmness and to transport the viewer with me.
My paintings are often done from photographs taken by myself or others.
Some times two or three images will influence the final painting my aim is not one of direct representation but of capturing the sense of space.
