I have an MA from Central Saint Martins.
My seascapes are metaphors of my emotions and moods, because I grew up in Devon by the coast.

Drawing, Illustration

Fairly recently I have re-discovered the joy of drawing with conte crayons on pastel paper.

Working on a small scale means that each mark I make is quite large within the composition. My aim here is to create textures illustrating the fluidity of water.

In my studio I work from photographs, imagination and memory.

I am careful not to overwork my images. Wishing to produce atmospheres which appear fresh to the eye.

These seascapes are metaphors of my emotions and moods. They are also reminiscent of views of the English Riviera. Some of the colours are influenced by water masses further afield, Lake Michigan, Rio de Janeiro and the Bosphorus.

To an extent these are idealised scenes pre climate change, no obvious signs of pollution.

I wonder how much longer will we be able to capture nature that is uncontaminated?
